Malala,Nepal,Court_rulings,Corruption,SEBI/RBI&M27M

Malala: Ten Talibani terrorists who had attacked Nobel prize winner, Malala, had been sentenced for twenty five years. An ATC in Swat district had given the verdict. But it does not include chief suspect. Malala was attacked during Oct.2012 wherein she was shot in head while aboard school bus. TTP had taken responsibility for attacks.
Nepal: The humanitarian grant-in-aid to Nepal is suspected by China. After Chinese aggression in tibet, it is alleged that "Operation Maitri" is being used for violation of Chinese border. Nepal is considered as investment destination by China after PoK where it had invested in rail and road network. Recently during Chinese premiere visit to Pak, a total of 51 agreements had been made, which includes economic corridor linking Gwader to China. China would also have access to India's oil import route.
Intelligence agencies had also alerted that terrorists could enter into Nepal in the aftermath of earthquake. UP adjacent border should have increased vigil. Many sleeping modules are stated to be inside. These try to cross border. 
Presently, China is investing in Nepal linking Lhasa along with Nepal viz. rail and road networks. It is also to note that around 20,000 people who took part in various protests in Tibet during 2008 are residing in Nepal. Nepal's foreign minister had denied any competition in regard to rescue and relief operations.
Court rulings:
1. NJAC: Petitioner, Jethmalani, had argued that corrupt govt. would want corrupt judiciary. He had requested that politicians should not be included in appointment of Judges. The conflict of interest continues amidst them. It is to note that earlier, Chief Justice, had denied taking part in meeting for selection of two eminent persons. It is being heard by Constitutional Bench.
2. Army: Supreme Court had expressed dismay over Army's promotion policy. Defence ministry's counsel had stated that Centre had approved "Command Exit promotion" policy but all vacancies are not yet filled. Justice Bench had asked about exception to it. How could Army fill vacancies on proportionate basis on it's own.
3. Cow meat: Mumbai High Court had denied stay on ban but it had told govt. to not take any strict action either. Under Animal Conservation & Protection Act, cow, ox etc. meat as banned. Three petitions had been filed challenging Act 5(d) & Act 9(a) wherein it was stated that it violates fundamental right of selection of choice food.
4. NGT: It had issued notices to UP, Uttarakhand & PCB to file reply in regard to lessening of pollution in rivers and it's tributaries. A petitioner had claimed that sewage effluent is being discharged in them. The pollution needs to be reduced for which an emergency plan is required.
5. Asaram: Supreme Court had maintained interim bail of Asaram's son, Narayan Sai. He had been granted three week's bail following her mother's surgery. He would be released a week before fixing of operation date. Gujarat Police had opposed it. But he was granted conditional bail. He is accused of hypnotizing people. The apex Court had commented that it is not expected in educated State.
6. Delhi gangrape: It would be heard by three member Constitutional Bench for speedy trial.
Corruption: Central govt. is likely to change Prevention of corruption act 1988. Now, the culprits would be sentenced for a period of seven years. The minimum sentence is increased from six months to three years.
SEBI/RBI: RBI had fined Dena Bank, OBC & Bank of Maharashtra for 1.5 crore each. These banks had failed to follow directions like KYC and Anti-money laundering rules. In future, such compliance is stated to be ensured. The action is taken against complaint lodged by private organisation. Agents had been found to be present while opening bank account. Besides, eight other banks had been warned. These are CBI, BoI, Punjab & Sind Bank, State Bank of Bikaner, UCO Bank, UBI, PNB & Vijaya Banks. All Banks had replied separately. Earlier, a show cause notice had been issued to 11 Banks by RBI.
M27M: ISS bound Russian space cargo plane had got technical glitch after which it is coming back to Earth. It is not predicted when it would touch the earth but after entering atmosphere, it would break into pieces. It was launched successfully but later lost control. 
Also, India had developed liquid propulsion system based Cryogenic engine which would make it self reliant in launching of heavy Satellites. ISRO had successfully tested it.
