{Modi_brand,EC,FDI(Print),Japan,IEEE,IAS_suspension,Women_bank,NPA,2G,&Sahara}

Modi brand: The Gujarat CM, Modi, had greeted Muslim community brethern on the eve of festival. He had greeted the community for including them in Gujarat's development and peace. He had stated that every festival brings peace and unity and increases it.
It is to note that he had conducted Sadbhavana fast program during September 2011 after which Muslim community had come forward in his support. 

Election Commission: Election Commission had stated that to all Chief Secretaries of the State that as per Supreme Court order dated July 10, any MP or MLA being declared guilty would have his election rejected thereof and the seat would remain vacant. It is directed that govt. prosecutors should be stated that any such decision coming from Court should be duly informed to the Legislative assembly or LokSabha Speaker. The Chief Secretary of Election Commission had stated that the said Court order had come into effect. If any member is found guilty, his membership would be rejected. It is to note that Court had rejected Public representative act, 1951 subclause (4) of Clause (8).  

FDI(Print): The Home ministry is against FDI increase in print and electronic media. In a reply, the Minister of Commerce had stated that media is a sensitive area. It should be within stated limits. The govt. had liberalised FDI in other areas and Home ministry had discussed upon it. The FDI in telecon. sector is 100% whereas in Foreign airlines, it had been allowed upto 49%. 

Japan: Japan had stated that it had summoned Chinese envoy in regard to  Chinese ships moving in disputed islands region on Wednesday. As per Foreign ministry spokesman, opposition had been registered before Executive envoy. China terms it as Diou whereas it is Senkaku in Japanese. It is widely believed that there are lot of natural resources beneath sea bed in that region.

IEEE: International organisation for Standards, IEEE had presented standards for Smart grid and other areas for Indian Companies. The program manager had stated that renewable energy companies would be benefiting from it. They would be able to compete globally too with the adoption of the standards. The standards are almost same through out the world except temperature variations. He stated that standards increase competition thereby resulting in lesser price. The Solar market is on the rise. IEEE Engineer stated that around 900 standards are prepared whereas 200 are being worked out.

IAS Suspension: After young IAS Officer's suspension, IPS Officers had also come in her support. The Central IPS association had asked for cancellation of her suspension terming it as one sided only.
There are around 4,000 IPS Officers as its members. Also, the Supreme Court had agreed to conduct early hearing of a PIL seeking her suspension's cancellation. The Bench headed by Chief Justice of India would be hearing the petition(PIL). It is to note that the PIL had been filed by counsel seeking immediate hearing on Thursday. It was argued that her suspension had been due to implementation of the Court's order. The PIL had basis of earlier Court orders wherein District Collectors and other officials are ordered for stopping of illegal construction of religious worshiping at govt. and public places.
The said IAS official had been suspended as Gautam Budh Nagar SDM on July 27 under alleged pressure of mining mafia. However, the UP State govt. claims that she had demolished a masjid wall making communal harmony put in danger. Also, a charge sheet had been given to her on August 4 seeking reply thereof.
Earlier, 4700 membered IAS association had also come in her favour/support seeking change in resignation rules.
 
Women Bank: The first branch of Women's Bank would be opened in New Delhi during November. The Parliament approval would be needed for it. The initial capital would be around 1,000 crore INR. Earlier, the Minister of Finance for State had stated that money would not pose hindrance to such bank. Initially, six branches would be opened in six different cities. The women's bank opening was declared during presentation of budget 2013-14. 
It would cater to the services of Women folks. It would provide financial services to the women entrepreneurs. Also, a savings program would be run by Bank. 

NPAs: As the gas production in Cauvery D6 block reduces, the banks are concerned as 40,000 crores INR worth loan had been granted to electricity generating companies. These plants were to be supplied gas provided through D6 blocks. The Petroleum ministry accepted the fact stating that this amount could turn into NPA. The Central govt. had given loans to various power plants seeing probable gas storage in D6 block of Cauvery basin. It had resulted in lesser production of electricity amounting 4,905 MW. It is to note that the gas supply to electricity plants had been stopped since March 2013.
After ONGC and GSPL's gas supply production had started but chances are less.

2G tapes: Supreme Court had asked CBI for delay in 2G matter tapes. As per Court, the talks are serious. It includes deals and touts are spread in all departments. CPIL had demanded that tape conversation is not linked with private matters. The next hearing is scheduled on August 12. The noted Industrialist, Tata, had filed petition stating that it should not be leaked to media. The NGO had asked that a person is talking on other serious matters. The tapes also reveal that touts are present in all govt. sectors. 
The Court had further asked that when it had been clear in 2009 about tapes matter, why no action had been taken till now? The Committee had submitted its report on analysis of talks contained in it. CBI had stated before the Court on July 31, 2013 that it included criminal talks for which Court had ordered that action should not be done upon Court's order. 

Sahara: Sahara group Chief had pleaded that it had no loan recovery amounting to 24,000 crore INR. The fund had been collected by two companies of the Sahara Group. SEBI had stated that his passport should be seized until any decision comes in this regard. The group had issued a statement before the media that company had already paid the amount. The Bench had asked whether the affidavit filed prior to it had been contrary? The counsel, Jethmalani, had asked to take a lenient view of the matter. Subrata Ray had been chief but the payment due is not only his responsibility. As per SEBI counsel, he is asking appointment from SEBI chief. Now, he cannot shed his hands off. He demanded stern punishment for Directors and Promoters of the Group companies.
