SEBI: Capital market regulator, SEBI, had taken action against Brooks Laboratories in IPO matter. Amidst charges of irregularities, twenty five companies and people have been fined worth 53.50 crore INR.
During IPO process, Brooks had joined with promoters and committed fraud. During the investigation, it was found that Konark Commercial & industries, Sharadraj Tradfin, Blue print securities, Sunshine Housecon. had done irregularities worth 8.25 crore INR. These allegations are fined ranging from 10 lakh upto 30.60 crore INR. A co. named Suryamukhi projects was paid advance worth 15.30 crore INR whereas at project site, infrastructure co. was not developed. It amounted to Brook's misuse of fund. Suryamukhi had been fined worth 30.60 crore INR. Overall financial consultants had received 2.5 crore as compensation. SEBI had fined it for five crores INR.
Yet in another matter, Indira securities had been fined worth sixteen lakh INR. Brook's INR came during August 2011. The regulator had checked for irregularities from June 2011 uptil Sept.2011. Brook's Director Board had collected money through Corporate deposit.

Coal gate scam: CBI is planning for 2-3 new FIRs whereas already fourteen FIRs and three Preliminary Enquiry (PE) had been registered. CBI is checking for irregularities from the year 2006 upto year 2009. CBI is also in process of closing case against ADAG's Ultra mega power project, Sasan, MP. As per directions of Supreme Court, CBI has to conduct investigation on 14 issues on PEs filed. PEs also include Tata motors supply of Low floor buses to Tamilnadu, & Spectrum allocation including Unitech's stock market fraud.
CBI is also waiting for Attorney General's opinion for Aircell-Maxis deal matter for registering case against Ex-telecon. minister, Maran. As per Aircell Head, he had favoured Malaysian co. in lieu of which Astro network had invested in Sun TV.

Modi brand: Central Rural minister had, in a letter, written that amount issued to State under Integrated Water Management program (IWAMP) has about 409 crore INR unused balance. Has he implemented IWAMP projects? If it was so, it could have got another 407 crore INR. He had asked for personal
intervention in it.

The Central ministry had approved Collegium for appointing of Judges. Under it, cooperation amidst executive & judiciary is stressed in regard to appointment & transfer process. The Cabinet had decided that Panel should not be disturbed. Art 124A and 124 B would be elaborating upon Collegium existence and working. It had been described in Judges appointing commission bill 2013.
CBI: The newly created post of Director(Prosecution) would be reporting to CBI Director. Uptil now, it was to be reporting to Law ministry but govt. had put it under CBI Director. It is as per recently passed LokPal bill. Along with promotion and posts, CBI director would also present annual
confidential report, which was done by Law ministry. Prosecution directorate was made responsible for pending trials, appeals, and review matters monitoring in Court. It monitors progress of case matters. It also provides legal advise to CBI officers.
With new system, preparation of chargesheet would be done by CBI Director. Now, CBI investigation could not be changed. It is to note that as per LokPal bill, Director(Prosecution) would be appointed as per CVC & LokPal recommendation.
