Dear all,

Election Donations: Ex-CEC, Qureshi, had advocated for curbing corruption in Corporate funding. He called upon for funding of political parties by the govt. itself.
As per him, amount could be a fixed sum per votes. It would provide enough fund for political parties. In his book, "An Undocmented wonder; the making of the great indian collection", he had stressed upon ban on Corporate funding besides implementing of govt. funding issue.
PSU: Reforms in Public Sector Enterprises had been at the forefront for bringing economy back on track. The Standing Conference on Public Enterprises (SCOPE) would present its agenda before the new PM. It had highlighted older reforms in its new agenda.
SCOPE wishes that importance of reforms needs to be highlighted so that they should not be slowed. Public Sector is enthusiastic regarding it. Recent statement of Gujarat CM, Modi, had also added to it. PSUs could have their share in economic development of the country.
Court ruling:
1. JBT scam: In the matter related to JBT scam, chief accused's son had got his interim bail term extended upon medical grounds uptil May 9 by Delhi High Court. HC had further given hearing date for review of Lower Court's order on May 16. It is to note that during 199-2000 JBT teachers recruitment, CBI's Special Court at Rohini Court had sentenced accused, son & Ex-IAS officer including 10 others for ten years of imprisonment. The other convict, P.Verma, was sentenced for five years an 44 others were awarded sentence of four years each.
Nadela: After joining Microsoft as CEO, Microsoft is stated to have earned profit during first quarterly i.e. Jan-march 2014 of about 472 crore INR. It is increased by 64% and is at a time when sale of computers had lessened.
It is learnt that his strategy of promoting Cloud computing had worked very well. After Steve Balmer's exit, he had been the CEO. The future would have more possibilities for Cloud computing as per him.
Their had been good progress in Bing & Office 365 Home. With Office program subscription, 10 lakh buyers are added. Also, 20 lakh Xbox are sold.
Indo-US relations: US had stated that a forum would be prepared to take Indo-US relations to newer heights. Ex-US ambassador to India had stated rejected the notion of declining of such relation due to bitterness. An effective leader had stated that World should not see Modi as divisive power but as a modernist.
Nancy Powell had stated that she had completed her tenure as ambassador. They had done few things and suffered too. For better security amongst two nations, commitment needs to be reaffirmed.
Powell hoped that bilateral relations would play an important role. The regional talks had been started which includes Indo-US-Afghan talks besides tripartite Japan talks. Information regarding nuclear security, Energy and Security related aspects are being shared. Joint military exercises are being done. Ex-President of Assembly had stated that Modi would have to find way for joining Hindus & Muslims.
Social Engineering: At local Varanasi seat, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) is likely to give ticket to it's leader. However, his program is fixed on May 3 at Municipal Corporation Hall. Party had put Star campaigners program on boundaries of Parliamentary seat as per their strategy. It is being viewed as confirming its Social engineering formula. It is same formula with which it had usurped power.
Mercy petition: The relatives of Ex-PM killing conspirators are dismayed over referring of case matter before five member Constitutional Bench. DMK leader had stated that he doesn't understand the reason for it when it is not a constitutional matter? PMK leader had appealed for release of all convicted on bail. It is sad that when Tamilians were expecting release, the matter has been referred to Constitutional Bench.
With regards,
