FATF: With the rise of Anti-corruption movement world over, the notoriety-gained country in regard to blackmoney deposition, Switzerland, is now vying for cleaning its image. Already, OECD countries have allowed to share information regarding bank account details.
A new bill is prepared for approval with Federal Council. After it gets passed, it would be difficult to hide big sums of black money in Swiss banks.
Federal Council had asked Finance ministry to prepare the said bill, which would be put up for approval next year. It would allow only those accounts, which are tax payers.
An affidavit would have to be submitted by the account holder. The tax haven, Switzerland, is under tremendous pressure, for being transparent. It has Indian black money, which had become a big political issue. FATF's amended recommendation would be made effective & money laundering matters would have to be reported to Money Laundering reporting Office.

Vaccine: Now, the vaccine for Japanese Encephalitis fever would be developed sooner in India. It would be available in the market thereby reducing our dependence on China. These are developed in the National Institute of Virology(NIV).
Presently, 15 States are affected by Japanese Encephalitis. The govt. is providing vaccines to childrens aged less than 6 months. Earlier, it was purchased from China but after the approval of DCGI, the drug control authority in India, a company named biological-e had made this vaccine in India. It is developed in collaboration with Intercell AG and wish to sell at retail price.
DCGI officials state that 3 more companies were competing with Bharat Biotech completing final stage of clinical trial. It is using indigenous technique. ICMR, Pune based NIV had given license for commercial production and within few months, it would start it. Likewise, psanofi Pasteur is also doing final stage of clinical trial. Another company viz. Panisia biotech is also in process of making it with the help of National Institute of Immunology Sc.(NII). The scope of Japanese Encephalitis :
- Spread in 113 districts of 15 States
- 181 death in last year followed by 136 this year
- Assam, Uttar pradesh & Bihar most affected.
