Naxalites: Home ministry had found that the Naxalite squads have more than half of it's women folks cadre. During past few days encounter, half of those killed are women folks. This is supposed to be increasing Naxalites foothold amongst women folks. There is no issue of giving them half partnership amongst Maoist cadres. This is opposed to earlier years, when they had not been participating in such encounters. It is learnt that women folks are alos heading divisional zonal commandership.

Egypt: The Egyptian public protest against its President had once again occured upon the appeal of Army Chief, Abdel Fateh Al Sisy for supporting the Army. The ousted President's party had made it as prestige issue and conducted rallies. Later violence erupted resulting in the deaths of around 100 people. However, there is dispute over number of people killed.
Whereas govt. claims it to be 50, the ousted President, Moorsy's, party claim it be around 100. The Brotherhood spokesman alleged that Army had fired on protesters. At Cairo, the action had been done at Army's Parade ground, where President Sadat was killed earlier during 1981. This had tormented the democarcy there.
The Brotherhood website mentions it to be around 120 with 4,500 wounded. The Health dept. claims around 60 dead bodies in the hospital. There is rush in hospitals.
Home minister had claimed that Brotherhood party is playing politics with increased numbers of bodies. As per him, Moorsy could be sent into prison where ousted corrupt President, Hosni Mubarak is placed.
Senior leader stated that he had been trying to remove youths from there but they are not dispersing. The Moorsy's supporters and opposite groups had conducted big rallies. Moorsy supporters had formed a barricade near Adavia Mosque. Police had used tear gas bomb on them. It is to note that since his ousting violence had resulted in death of 300 people.

It is a India made UAV an could provide information from air to air and surface to air based weapon systems for destroying planes. On Saturday, HAL, had
issued a statement that UAV had been handed over on July 26. It is the only company which caters to UAV supplies. HAL President had stated that the plane would be handed over to BDL within fifteen months, which is nine months prior to the scheduled delivery time.
HAL had delivered 39 such planes to IAF, DRDO & Indian Navy. It is considering building next generation PTA-Lakshya2.

Delhi's Gangrape: Delhi Police Spl. Estt.(DPSE) had objected upon witnesses statements of the defendant's /accused in Delhi Gangrape involving succumbing of victim after the gangrape on Dec 12 in a luxury bus. The Police had presented a document stating that the accused are making false stories for saving themselves. The two accused had stated that they had been in a music program at District Park.
The DPSE counsel had stated that there was no such program occurence during that night. Ther relatives of both accused are aiding them in making such stories. No such permission had been given by DDA. Besides, St. Thomas Church's at R.K.Puram assembly's secretary had also given a letter, which was also presented. In it, it is written that no such program had been held on Dec. 16, 2012. The person who was to be presenting the program had himself given that letter. Also, the accused friend's had given a statement that both were present during the program from 8 pm to 11 pm. They had also made video clipping during the program in mobile.

Jet-Etihad deal: The Jet Airways had decided to reduce the Board of Directors to two number, wherein as per the agreement the major decisions would be taken upon the majority. The pressure had been mounted by SEBI & Foreign Investment Promotion Board(FIPB). Now, it had increased chances of getting the approval for the deal during the meeting on July 29. This is apart from Jet Airways promoter claim as his being NRI. Under the Foreign Investment rules, any NRI could invest upto 100% in a domestic airline. With its two directors, the equity holding pattern would not be altered i.e. 24% equity would be with Etihad and 51% with Jet Airways. Remaining 25% equity would be with financial institutions.
It is to note that the deal had created political uproar citing corruption and control issue. Under the Air services agreement, 36,600 seats would be given on weekly basis by Abudhabi based airlines.

Car manufacturing: The General Motors, Tavera model, is being taken back which are sold back since past eight years. This had made clear that the emission standards had not been followed. Heavy Engineering ministry had started drafting a policy in this regard. This would be made in one/two months. Presenly, it is being done by the companies only. The govt. had no role in it. The vehicle is returned without taking any charge towards it.
General Motors had taken around 1.14 lakh Chevrolet vehicles noticably, Tavera model, SUV. It had also suspended its officials too. The govt. had declared that there would be separate rules but it was not done. Indian Foundation of Transport research and training stated that this is due to lobbying done by those companies. The Quality certificate dept. should be held responsible for it. Some of the questions raised are:
1. How the companies used to violate emission standards uptil eight years?
2. What is the role of the agencies for implementation of those standards?
3. Does Indian govt. didnot consider upon the quality of Indian vehicles?
4. Why no law is made so far in this regard?
5. Why agreement is not made upon Road and Heavy Industry ministry/depts?
With regards,

M.K.Pachraiya
